September 15, 2009 -- Larry Mocha, President of APSCO Inc. of Tulsa, has been named the Solveras/NFIB Small Business Champion of Oklahoma by the National Federation of Independent Business, according to the Tulsa World.
"Year after year, Larry has proven his commitment to NFIB and small business, not just in Tulsa but throughout Oklahoma," Benny Vanatta, State Director of NFIB/Oklahoma tells the Tulsa World.
An NFIB member for 12 years, Mocha also sits on the NFIB Leadership Council, a volunteer group that advises the association on issues affecting small-business owners.
Mocha has also worked with Lt. Gov. Jari Askins and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce to organize a series of small-business forums around the state.
Mocha was previously named NFIB/Oklahoma's Small Business Champion in 2005 and 2008.
He is a former Chairman of the Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. He also is active on the U.S. Chamber Small Business Council and served as Region IV Chairman of the U.S. Small Business Administration Regulatory Fairness Board in 1999-2000.
Mocha is Chairman of the Center for Legislative Excellence as well as the Tulsa Mayor's Initiative for Entrepreneurship.
