University Of Phoenix Adding Almost 40 Jobs Statewide

May 8, 2008 -- The University of Phoenix is expanding its Tulsa and Oklahoma City campuses as well as adding two smaller campuses.

According to The Journal Record, the expansion will add almost 40 new jobs combined across all four campuses.

The university will relocate its Tulsa campus to the Eastgate Metroplex office campus, formerly known as Eastland Mall.  The relocation will include a $3.5 million-plus renovation of the university's new site.  Campus officials say the Tulsa relocation should be complete by October.

The Journal Record reports the university is working on plans to either relocate or expand its 36,000-square foot campus in Oklahoma City.

The university also plans to add smaller campuses in Owasso and near Tinker Air Force Base.

University officials say the expansion will allow them to enhance student services and serve a growing interest in online education.

School officials say the expansion could boost enrollment by as much as 20%.  Enrollment at the Oklahoma City campus is up 118% from a year-ago, while Tulsa's enrollment is up 112%.
