OKLAHOMA CITY — Figures just released from the Oklahoma Main Street Center detail year end (2011) program totals and one local community program hitting another private reinvestment milestone in December.
OKLAHOMA CITY — Since its inception in 1993, the Quality Jobs Program has issued more than 612 contracts to locating, expanding and start-up businesses and brought thousands of jobs to Oklahoma. This last December saw more Quality Jobs participants than any single month in the programs 19-year history and fiscal year 2012 is set to meet or beat the previous year’s numbers. With the current fiscal year at the half-way point, the Quality Jobs Program is set to meet or exceed fiscal year 2011’s benchmarks.
OKLAHOMA CITY — After more than 11 months of negotiations and the withdrawal of participation by the Local Elected Officials (LEO) in October, the Southeast Workforce Investment Area that serves seven counties in southeast Oklahoma will be divided between the Eastern and Southern Workforce Investment Areas effective Dec 1, 2011.
Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin today announced a new initiative launched jointly with Governor John Hickenlooper of Colorado designed to increase the use of natural gas vehicles (NGVs) in state automobile fleets. Other states, including Wyoming and Pennsylvania have also signed onto the agreement. Additional states have also been invited to join.
