Oklahoma Mainstreet

The Oklahoma Main Street Center provides training and technical assistance for preservation-based commercial district revitalization. There are 42 communities in the Oklahoma Main Street program that actively implement the Four-Point Main Street ApproachTM to commercial district revitalization developed by the National Main Street Center. The Oklahoma Main Street Center also administers DesignWorks, a community design assistance program, in cooperation with the Oklahoma Arts Council.

January 7, 2010 -- Oklahoma Main Street Inc. and the Oklahoma Today magazine are celebrating the release of the January/February issue of Oklahoma Today billed as "The Complete Guide to Oklahoma’s 42 Main Street Communities."

"Oklahoma Today Magazine - in this issue - captures the energy of Oklahoma’s Main Street communities and will encourage readers to visit those great Oklahoma cities and towns," said Hardy Watkins, Executive Director of the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department.

Issue Arrives as State's Main Street Program Celebrates 25 Years

January 5, 2010 -- Now celebrating its 25th year, the Oklahoma Main Street program and its 42 member communities are the focus of the January/February issue of Oklahoma Today magazine.

The Main Street program is a nationally certified community revitalization effort spearheaded by the National Main Street Center. Providing training and technical assistance for member communities, the program is administered in Oklahoma by the Oklahoma Main Street Center, a division of the Oklahoma Department of Commerce.
