July 10, 2008 -- The City of Duncan has announced the expansion of Cameron Measurement Systems on their Site Ready certified site.

Cameron Measurement Systems will bring an additional 60 to 70 jobs within the next few years.  Construction has begun on the 43,000 square-foot expansion in Duncan’s North Industrial Park.  The Industrial Park was certified by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce as a Site Ready property in 2006.

Plant Manager Ricky Allen stated that the Site Ready certification played a key factor into the location chosen.

"The Site Ready aspects of working with the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation will definitely be a factor in our success and was a factor in our decision to expand this facility," said Allen.  "Being Site Ready relieved many of the concerns that we might have had if we had opted to expand in a different location."

Company officials believe that the expansion should be completed in 12 to 14 months.

Lyle Roggow of the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation adds, "Cameron Measurement Systems’ expansion is very exciting for the Duncan community.  It was a definite benefit for the Duncan Area Economic Development Foundation to have a certified Site Ready location for this company.  Being certified allowed the process to move much quicker."

Cameron Measurement Systems employs machinists in the oil and agriculture fields.  The plant in Duncan manufactures flow meters and other products that measure and regulate the flow of gas and other liquids.

The Oklahoma Site Ready Program seeks to make business relocation, expansion and development in Oklahoma as inviting as possible. For a site to become certified, site owners or community leaders must complete a comprehensive application identifying key site data that would aid site selectors in their searches. An independent third party then assists the Commerce Department in determining whether the sites meet Site Ready requirements.

The site certification program debuted in Oklahoma in 2006 and now has 28 sites in the following communities: Alva, Ardmore, Bartlesville, Chickasha, Claremore, Duncan, Enid, Eufaula, Fairview, Hobart, Norman, Oklahoma City, Ponca City, Sallisaw, Stillwater, Tahlequah, and Wagoner.
