Devon and Chesapeake made the list for a third straight year. Devon is No. 20 and Chesapeake is No. 34. January 19, 2010 -- The Ardmore Development Authority (ADA) says a manufacturer of air filters will locate a manufacturing and distribution facility in Ardmore. Flanders Corporation has purchased the former Best Buy building located in the New Horizons Industrial Park, just south of Highway 70.

January 14, 2010 -- TCIM Services Inc. is hiring 250 customer service representatives or telephone sales associates in the next 30 to 60 days at its Tulsa location, according to the Tulsa World.
The new hires are needed to handle increased business from existing customers and to accommodate a new division for a business-to-business telecommunications company. Entry-level wages for the positions being filled range from $11.42 to $13 an hour.
January 5, 2010 -- MarketWatch recently named Oklahoma City and Tulsa No. 24 and 25, respectively, among the best U.S. cities for business.
In determining its rankings, MarketWatch looked at population, job growth, and other factors. December 9, 2009 -- The Oklahoman reports Oklahoma City voters have passed a far-reaching $777 million MAPS 3 initiative aimed at continuing citywide progress that began with the first MAPS in 1993.
Like its predecessors, MAPS and MAPS For Kids, MAPS 3 is designed to dramatically change the face of the city, according to The Oklahoman.
November 30, 2009 - Forbes ranks Tulsa No. 12 and Oklahoma City No. 13 among its list of "America's Fastest-Recovering Cities."
In creating this list, Forbes ranked the 100 largest metropolitan statistical areas in five categories: unemployment rate, gross metropolitan product, foreclosures, home prices and sales rates.

November 3, 2009 -- Site Selection magazine ranks Oklahoma No. 18 on its Top Business Climate for 2009 list. The ranking is based in part on a survey of corporate real estate executives as well as a plant database that tracks new and expanded business facility activity.
Oklahoma's ranking is up six spots from 2008. October 27, 2009 -- National Public Radio (NPR) recently asked the question, what makes Oklahoma City recession proof?

October 23, 2009 - BusinessWeek magazine has ranked Tulsa and Oklahoma City among the 40 strongest metros in the United States. Oklahoma City is No. 3 and Tulsa is No. 7.
The magazine based its ranking on data and analysis from the Brookings Institution's new MetroMonitor study, including job growth, employment, economic growth and home prices.
