Wind Energy Workshop Set for Oklahoma Manufacturers; Register Now

Manufacturing is Essential for Economic Growth, According to New Report

Jan. 25, 2010 - As U.S. manufacturers struggle to recover from the recession, a new report finds that manufacturing fuels economic prosperity but requires pro-growth policies to create jobs and remain globally competitive. The report released by the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) and the Council of Manufacturing Associations (CMA) was written by economists Joel Popkin and Kathryn Kobe, noted experts on issues related to prices, wages, productivity and technology.

The new report, "Manufacturing Resurgence - A Must for U.S. Prosperity," is available here. It is the third in a series of reports by Dr. Popkin featuring data and analysis about the importance of U.S. manufacturing to the nation's economy.

Oklahoma City Council Gives Green Light to Integra Job Incentive Funds

December 21, 2009 – The Journal Record reports the Oklahoma City Council approved $820,000 in economic development funds this week to support 205 new jobs at a wind management company in northwest Oklahoma City.

Integra Wind Services LLC provides installation and maintenance services to wind farms throughout Oklahoma, reports the Journal Record.

Oklahoma's Central Purchasing Division recently launched an online vendor system that notifies registered businesses via e-mail when bid opportunities for state agency contracts are available. For $25 per commodity, registered businesses can receive e-mails whenever state agencies have supply needs that fit their profiles.
