Norman Offers Exceptional Climate for Global Weather Company
Officials with Weathernews Americas, Inc. saw Norman, Oklahoma, as the “Silicon Valley of weather” and knew it was the perfect location for its newest aviation service center.
Weathernews Americas delivers around-the-clock risk communications and decision support services to the company’s commercial airline partners including American Airlines and its 3,900 daily flights—all from Norman, Oklahoma.
According to Weathernews Americas, Inc. President and CEO Jeremy Usher, Norman was a natural choice.

“Norman is home to such meteorological and industry innovation that we knew we had to build our service center there,” -Jeremy Usher, Weathernews President and CEO |
“We are excited to be a part of the growing community in Norman,” says Usher.
By locating in Norman, Weathernews Americas is benefiting from Oklahoma’s unique Quality Jobs incentive program. In addition, meteorological and weather-related expertise being developed at the CareerTech Moore-Norman Technology Center will provide training opportunities for Weathernews and other weather-related industries.

“Very few communities have such a powerful hold on an industry like Norman does with weather,” says Don Wood, executive director of the Norman Economic Development Coalition. “We’re proud to have Weathernews Americas as a part of our community.”
The service center will soon move to its new location at One Partners Place, the first of five buildings targeted at private companies located on the University of Oklahoma research campus. Weathernews Americas will occupy half of this Class A space adjacent to the new $67 million dollar, 300,000 square-foot National Weather Center set to open in 2005.
