RX For Oklahoma Success Stories

Nancy, wife of client David, is very thankful for the Rx for Oklahoma program. They are a rural farm family of 4, who rely solely on their farm for income. This past year has been a struggle; she did not know how they would be able to pay for her husband's diabetic medications.

In July, their family doctor referred them to the Rx for Oklahoma program. David received his medication within weeks of applying.

Nancy expressed her gratitude for the program stating that her husband cannot do without his meds, but they were in such dire straits with the lack of farm income that they didn't know how they would continue to purchase his medications.

She hopes that the program will continue for a long time and be able to help others in need of their medications. She said that she tells anyone who will listen about how the Rx for Oklahoma program has been able to assist them during their time of need.

During February 2007 we a father call an Rx for OK office in hope to receive assistance for his daughter. She had been clinically depressed and physically not doing well. Due to hard times, the daughter had moved back home and he would be taking care of her. He indicated the medical burden of paying for prescription medication and wanted to know if we could help. After completing the Rx for Oklahoma application the staff was able to find thirteen of the sixteen requested medications for his daughter. He was so appreciative that Rx for Oklahoma existed; he didn't know how he was going to financially take care of the medication for his daughter.
