Four Oklahoma Companies Make Fortune's List Of Best Employers For 2009

Jan. 22, 2009 -- Four Oklahoma companies – Devon Energy, QuikTrip, American Fidelity Assurance, and Chesapeake Energy -- made Fortune magazine's latest list of the nation's "100 Best Companies to Work for."

Devon Energy Corp., made the list for a second straight year, coming in at No. 13.  Devon was the highest-ranked energy company in the country.

Tulsa-based convenience store QuikTrip received a No. 27 ranking in its seventh straight year to make the list.

American Fidelity Assurance Co., one of the nation’s largest private, family-owned life insurance companies made the list at No. 46. It’s the sixth consecutive appearance for the Oklahoma City-based company.

Chesapeake Energy Corp. of Oklahoma City made the list for the second straight year at No. 73.
