Labor Force Studies Top
In 2005, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, the University of Oklahoma Public Opinion Learning Laboratory, and community economic development organizations across the state initiated a new round of local area labor force studies to gather statistics and analysis about Oklahoma's workforce. Today, there are 18 reports available for download covering each of the major areas of the state.
Each study provides a comprehensive look at the following areas:
- Local labor force profile;
- Numbers of underemployed workers;
- Commuting patterns;
- Willingness to change employers;
- Educational levels of Oklahoma's labor pool.

The County Business Patterns represent a data series that provides economic information by county and industry. The information and statistics presented within this series helps business and government decision-makers study the economic activity of small areas; analyze economic changes over time; and serves as a benchmark for statistical series, surveys, and databases between major economic census efforts.
County Business Patterns covers most of a county's economic activity. However, exclusions include data on the self-employed, employees of private households, railroad employees, agricultural production employees, and most government employees.

Oklahoma State University's College of Business Administration
The Oklahoma State University College of Business Administration's Center for Applied Economic Research provides a variety of economic and business data and analysis, including forecasts like the "2004 Oklahoma Economic Outlook;" research reports about different industry sectors, including "Energy Prices and the Oklahoma Economy," "The Economic Impact of Oklahoma's Child Care Industry," and "The Economic Impact of Oil and Gas Production and Drilling on the Oklahoma Economy;" and various historical databases organized by state, county, and city.
Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service
The Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service works through a network of Cooperative Extension Educators in every county to help residents address local issues and concerns. County personnel call upon state, district, and area extension specialists who develop programs based on research provided by federal and state agencies and the OSU College of Business Administration and School of Agriculture to help Oklahomans solve problems, promote leadership, and manage resources wisely. Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service programs focus on the following:

Each division (air quality, water quality, and land protection) of the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ), issues a variety of publications and reports containing statewide economic and business data.
Oklahoma State Chamber of Commerce--the 21st Century Annual Report
For Oklahoma's 21st Century Annual Report, the state Chamber of Commerce asked Oklahoma economists to provide an overview of two of the state's leading economic development incentives--the Ad Valorem Tax Exemption and the Quality Jobs Program. Within this report, the economists also discuss the pros and cons of a state lottery and the economic development aspects of lawsuit reform.
