Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a web-based technology that allows you to have web content pushed to you in the form of headlines that link to the full content on the website where they originated. Content publishers such as Yahoo, the New York Times, CNN, and many others offer the ability to subscribe to RSS news feeds that distribute new content directly to you. No need to go visit multiple websites to see what's new.
RSS news feeds require a newsreader or news aggregator, which collects and manages the links, headlines, and summaries of the content you subscribe to. Most newsreaders are available for download at no cost and are easy to use. Some suggested newsreaders are listed below.
The Oklahoma Department of Commerce offers a wide variety of content as RSS news feeds. When you subscribe to any of these RSS news feeds, the headlines of new content posted to those pages will be pushed out to your newsreader. Click here for a list of news feeds and to subscribe. Watch for the familiar RSS icon on pages where news headlines are available.
If you experience technical difficulties with downloading the newsreader, please contact the product customer service department or your company's information technology department for assistance.
