Description:
The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) is designed

  • to reduce fossil fuel emissions created as a result of activities within the jurisdictions of eligible entities in a manner that is environmentally sustainable; and
  • to the maximum extent practicable, maximizes benefits for local and regional communities;
  • to reduce the total energy use of the eligible entities; and
  • to improve energy efficiency in transportation, building and other appropriate sectors.

Notice of Updated Guidance Regarding EECBG ARRA Funding

The State Energy Office (SEO) at the Oklahoma Department of Commerce (ODOC) has received updated guidance from the Department of Energy (DOE) with respect to eligible activities as part of the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) program.

According to updated requirements with respect to the purchase of vehicles, DOE had determined that only the delta (the difference between the cost of a non-hybrid vehicle and a hybrid vehicle of similar MPG rating) is eligible.  If any of your applications are affected, amended applications will be accepted until 12:00 pm, noon, on Tuesday, June 16, 2009.

  • Demonstrate state commitment to sustainability to thereby attract additional federal dollars
