Description:
Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) program funds are contracted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS) to reduce poverty, revitalize low-income communities and empower low-income individuals and families to become self-sufficient.
The current formula for distributing CSBG funds will be maintained to ensure that agencies continue to receive their proportionate share of funding to effectively and efficiently carry out ARRA/ CSBG activities.
Eligible entities will receive ARRA/CSBG funds under a separate contract and distributed according to ARRA/CSBG Recovery Act requirements:
State of Oklahoma ARRA/CSBG Award: $11,965,297 (100%)
Eligible Entity Distribution (Pass Thru): $11,845,644 (99%)
Benefits Coordination and Eligibility Activities: $119,653 (1%)
The ARRA/CSBG Funding List provides a breakdown by eligible entity (Community Action Agency) of funds received.
The DRAFT State Plan describing projects to be funded under the Recovery Act is now available for public inspection and comments.
The State Plan is due to U.S.Department of Health and Human Services/ Office of Community Services on May 29, 2009.
Community Action Agencies are required to consider strategic uses for Recovery Act dollars, rather than simple expansion, if service need hasn't increased in proportion to the amount of the increase in dollars.
