City of Davis Achieves Oklahoma Film Friendly Certification

The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), in conjunction with the City of Davis and the Davis Chamber of Commerce, is proud to announce the city has achieved ‘film friendly’ certification after completing the requirements for OF+MO’s Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program.

“We are excited to be included in the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program. We feel that with all our community has to offer to the film industry, this would be an amazing opportunity for not only filmmakers, but for our community as well,” said Davis Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Monica Popkess.

Located in scenic, south-central Oklahoma among the Arbuckle Mountains, the City of Davis is full of breathtaking scenery and locations and home to Turner Falls Park, which boasts one of the state’s largest waterfalls. Davis has previously welcomed production on the independent feature films “Heartland,” “The Veil,” “Afterwalker” and the forthcoming “Model House.”

“As the first community within Murray County to complete the requirements of the Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program, we’re thrilled to welcome the City of Davis to our growing roster of ‘film friendly’ certified communities throughout the state, and we’re grateful to the local leadership and citizens for their support of the program and the state’s film industry,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky.
