With the downtown in the energy industry, some oil & gas companies are working to pivot operations, including one Oklahoma energy company, Horizon Energy Partners. Horizon has developed Okie Clean, a FDA-approved hand sanitizer. Okie Clean is an alcohol-based sanitizing product for hands and surfaces.
“With the oil field in a serious downturn, we realized that we needed to find a way to utilize our facility and our people in a way that would benefit our community,” said Jonathan Jordan, president of the Oklahoma City-based oil-field chemical company and co-founder of Okie Clean. “In under three weeks, we retrofitted our facility and brought in all of the necessary chemicals, bottles, labels and bottling equipment needed to produce our sanitizing product on a large scale.”
Okie Clean offers hand and surface sanitizer in a variety of sizes for personal care, retail establishments, industrial applications, health care, mature adult care and baby care.
“By creating this line of products, we are able to not only keep our people employed, we are also able to help our friends, family and customers continue the safe sanitizing protocols laid out by the Center for Disease Control,” said Mason Haley, co-founder of Okie Clean.
