In its July/August issue, Bassmaster Magazine lined out its annual list of the top 100 bass lakes in the country. Five Oklahoma lakes made the list. Only six states had more lakes making the list, with four of those six being significantly larger than Oklahoma in area.
“You all are in bass central it seems like,” said James Hall, editor of Bassmaster Magazine. “You all have some incredible bass fisheries. There is something about the earth in that Texas-Oklahoma area that just makes bass grow big and quickly. I don’t know what it is, but you’ll are in the middle of some incredible bass fishing, that’s for sure.”
No. 13 – Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees | No. 64 – Lake Hudson | No. 68 – Konowa Lake
No. 73 – Lake Texoma | No. 75 – Lake of the Arbuckles
The rankings were determined by a 15-member panel after examining tournament data and polls of bass fishermen, state fishery agencies and B.A.S.S. officials.
