Global Entrepreneurship Week: Nov. 8-14

Oklahoma is celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) November 8-14, 2020. Global Entrepreneurship Week is a collection of tens of thousands of events, activities and competitions each November that inspire millions to explore their potential as an entrepreneur while fostering connections and increasing collaboration within their ecosystems. To celebrate, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce is encouraging Oklahoma start-ups and entrepreneurs to participate in the following events:

36 Degrees North GEW Events | November 8-14
36 Degrees North is hosting a comprehensive schedule of events for GEW. Some of these events will be virtual, including a GEW virtual launch party on November 8. 

Launch OKC Metro: GEW Oklahoma Vitual Kickoff | November 8

Join fellow entrepreneurs, small business owners, support organizations, and more for the 1st GEW Oklahoma statewide virtual kickoff.

OKC Innovation District | November 9
The OKC Innovation District will feature a  happy hour event, Cocktails & Collaboration, for Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Tulsa UX – Jason Mathew – (IBM Product Manager) | November 9

Automation business. Jason is also the founder of LeadMeNot, an accountability platform focused on helping men and women fight destructive digital habits. 

OU I-CCEW | November 9-11
Have a 1:1 strategy discussion with OU I-CCEW. Topics often include early-stage validation planning, business pitch development, product-market fit testing design, and fundraising strategy, but are customized to the needs of the entrepreneur.

Oklahoma Venture Forum Power Lunch | November 10

Volunteer and connect with professionals from all over the District for a day of service in NE Oklahoma City. All volunteers will receive an Innovation District shirt.

ECU Tiger Tank Pitch | November 10

Pitch your business idea in 2-5 minutes to win cash prizes. Prizes and awards are presented at the Limes Lecture and Luncheon the same day. Hear from the ECU Alumni Entrepreneur of the Year at the Luncheon.

1 Million Cups OKC | November 10
As a program of the Kauffman Foundation, 1 Million Cups works with entrepreneurs, empowering them with the tools and resources to break down barriers that stand in the way of starting and growing their businesses.

Ada Jobs Foundation GEW Events | November 11
The Ada Jobs Foundation is hosting a virtual and in person event on Thursday, November 11.  The Big Pitch Ada is a business pitch competition that provides a platform for entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges and a live audience, all while competing for cash prize money.

Join Cortado Ventures for happy hour to meet team members, founders, aspiring entrepreneurs, and supporters from across the metro area.

SBDC Oklahoma Business Startup Workshop | November 12

In this workshop, SBDC professionals will address many of the questions you should ask yourself before beginning the process of starting a new business. Attendees will learn about legal business structures, small business tax basics, best management practices, basic marketing strategies and market research.

Oklahoma City Innovation District X Restore OKC Work Day | November 13
Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization is a movement to empower, celebrate and support women in business worldwide. Hear from numerous speakers and learn about efforts to alleviate poverty by empowering, celebrating and supporting women in business worldwide.
