Owens-Brockway Glass Container Inc., one of the world’s leading glass container manufacturers, is reaffirming its long-standing commitment to Muskogee with investments to modernize vital machinery in its local production facility. A cornerstone of Muskogee’s industrial community since 1988, the plant has been a reliable source of quality manufacturing jobs for decades and ranks among the top five industrial employers in the region.
The Muskogee facility has operated continuously for decades and currently supports approximately 200 full-time employees with high-skill positions in a capital-intensive manufacturing environment that earn over 175% of the average wage in Muskogee County.
“Our Muskogee facility has been part of this community for generations, and this investment is a reflection of our confidence in the people and the place,” said Arnaldo De Marzi, Director of Operations, O-I Glass Inc. “By upgrading our equipment, we are positioning our Muskogee plant for continued growth while maintaining our commitment to quality and to the workforce that makes it all possible.”
The multi-million dollar multi-phase capital investment will modernize aging infrastructure, including glass-melting furnaces, production equipment, control systems, and safety technology—improving operational efficiency and ensuring continued environmental and regulatory compliance.
To advance the project, O-I Glass Inc. worked collaboratively with Port Muskogee and state leaders to identify available resources in support of long-term operational continuity.

In recognition of the project’s economic significance, O-I Glass Inc. received a $2 million award through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce’s Business Expansion Incentive Program (BIEP)—a program designed to support precisely this type of reinvestment: strengthening existing industry, retaining high-wage employment, and reinforcing Oklahoma’s competitiveness as a location for advanced manufacturing.
