The Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO), in conjunction with the City of Yukon, is proud to announce the city has achieved film friendly certification after completing the requirements for OF+MO’s Oklahoma Film Friendly Community Program.
“We are thrilled for the opportunities that being a Film Friendly Community will bring to Yukon,” said City of Yukon Public Information Officer and Film Liaison Jenna Roberson. “Our city has many diverse locations that would make a great backdrop to any production.”
Located at the crossroads of the historic Chisholm Trail and Route 66, the City of Yukon is located in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan area where a bustling metropolis meets beautiful farmlands. As the hometown of country superstar Garth Brooks, the Oklahoma Czech Festival and the upcoming Great Plains Film Festival, Yukon has welcomed filming on many local productions including “I Can Only Imagine,” “Golden Arm,” “Joey & Ella,” “Southland,” “Treasure Lies,” and the forthcoming “Out of Exile”.
“We wish to congratulate the City of Yukon on their recent film friendly certification, and we appreciate the collaborative efforts of their local leadership and community members in achieving this distinction,” said OF+MO Director Tava Maloy Sofsky. “We look forward to further promoting Yukon to the growing opportunities for development associated with the state’s film and television industry.”
