Join Commerce for Community Training & Economic Development Workshop

Prior to the start of the Oka Con’26 Community Training & Economic Development Workshop, at East Central University in Ada, Okla., the Oklahoma Department of Commerce will provide a free community training on economic development, specifically on the importance of infrastructure. This training will take place October 14, and offer a full day of practical learning at no cost.

The Oka Con’26 Community Training & Economic Development Workshop brings together community leaders, elected officials, utility professionals, and economic development partners to explore the vital connection between water infrastructure and thriving communities. Through expert presentations, panel discussions, and networking opportunities, attendees will gain practical strategies for strengthening infrastructure, supporting economic growth, and planning for a sustainable future.

The adjacent 2026 John and Kay Hargrave Water Sustainability Conference is open to anyone who wants to attend with a specific focus on rural communities and their invested staff and leadership.
