Benefits of Partnering with ACES

“Wall Colmonoy has been partnering with ACES at trade shows since 2021. The partnership gives us exposure to a much larger market supporting domestic and export sales growth,” said Brian Martin, Director of Business Development. “The ability to project the Wall Colmonoy brand at international trade shows such as MRO Europe is a significant factor in our ability to increase our export sales. The ACES/Oklahoma Department of Commerce Team was also instrumental in helping us work with the Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance, who has provided Lean Training and other support to Wall Colmonoy OKC.”

Wall Colmonoy OKC General Manager John S. Mars also noted other benefits of working with ACES and the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, in particular the Oklahoma Innovation Expansion Program (OIEP).

“Wall Colmonoy is in the third cycle of OIEP awards that have helped with the costs of capital improvements, such as adding a high-speed tube laser, CNC tube bending capability and soon an additional high temperature brazing furnace,” he said.

Key Benefits of Operating in Oklahoma’s Aerospace & Defense Sector

According to Mars, the supportive and expansive nature of the Aerospace/Defense industry in Oklahoma makes the state a welcoming place for new industry entrants. “The Oklahoma Aerospace and Defense community is tight knit, offering significant resources within the state to move product from raw material to finished goods,” he said. “Whether you need non-destructive evaluation services, chemical surface enhancement, metal forming services or equipment supply, the resources are available in the state of Oklahoma for virtually any need.”

Advice for Aerospace & Defense Companies Considering Oklahoma

“Oklahoma’s Aerospace and Defense sector is a growing industry, and by operating in that sector, Wall Colmonoy Oklahoma City has been able to grow as well, by adding new products that support the warfighter at Tinker AFB, as well the Commercial and General Aviation markets,” said Mars. “Oklahoma is the ‘MRO Capital of the World,’ and any business that wants to grow in the MRO sector would be well served by locating in the great state of Oklahoma.”

The state’s business-friendly environment and large Aerospace and Defense industry also combine to proffer advantages, according to Mars. “Oklahoma is a business-friendly state with a large Aerospace and Defense community,” he noted. “I have been in the Aerospace and Defense business for most of 28 years. The support offered by the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, Oklahoma Manufacturing Alliance and the ACES program is robust. I would encourage anyone considering opening or relocating an Aerospace and Defense company to strongly consider Oklahoma.”
