Oklahoma Department of Commerce to Host Virtual Summit for Small Business Owners

In celebration of National Small Business Week, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce has announced a special virtual workshop designed to connect local entrepreneurs with federal and state resources. The “Small Business Resource Webinar” will take place via Zoom on Thursday, May 7, at 11 a.m.

As small businesses continue to serve as the backbone of the state’s economy, this session aims to provide owners with a direct line to experts who can help navigate the complexities of government programs and strategic growth.

Meet the Experts

The event features a powerhouse lineup of presenters dedicated to business development:

  • Stephanie Farris (SBA): A veteran Lead Business Opportunity Specialist with the Oklahoma District Office of the U.S. Small Business Administration. Serving in her role since 2013, Farris is a specialist in the 8(a) Business Development program, helping firms gain a foothold in government contracting.
  • Cesar Holguin (OKSBDC): A Business Development Specialist with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center. With six years of experience, Holguin provides insights into confidential consulting, start-up assistance, and growth workshops tailored for local entrepreneurs.

What to Expect

The webinar is designed to be more than just a lecture. Attendees can expect:

  • Program Overviews: In-depth information on SBA tools and OKSBDC consulting services.
  • Growth Strategies: Advice on everything from initial start-up phases to scaling an existing business.
  • Live Q&A: A dedicated period for business owners to ask specific questions directly to agency representatives.

How to Attend

Registration is mandatory to receive the Zoom webinar link. Because virtual “seating” is limited, officials are encouraging interested parties to sign up as soon as possible to secure their spot.
